We had our only trip, DD (18) and myself in the beginning of April. I keep repeating my ONE Universal Orlando trip experience and apologize for anyone who is really tired of me saying basically the same thing over and over… but here goes!

If you have any more questions feel free to ask me! And please update if you do ride it! I believe you can do it, and if you do it once and hate it, you never have to do it again. I will say I've ridden it in almost every seat, and it is still smooth as butter towards the back, but there are definitely more 'butt out of the seat' moments. The closer to the back, the rougher/more air time you will have. I know it can seem scarier to be in the front and be able to see everything coming your way, but you will absolutely have the smoothest ride. If having only the lap bar freaks you out and you don't want as much air time, wait for the front row. I personally think the ride is definitely more thrilling than scary. The longest one to me feels like the one where you're going straight upside down on the track, not in a loop, and even that is still over pretty quick. There's a slight moment where you have the 'hang time' at the top, but then you're going down the hill, and then it's over. Don't get me wrong, it's a very intense coaster. I was in tears before going on Velocicoaster for the first time. To focus on velocicoaster, none of the airtime moments last so long to scare you but aren’t too short so as to disappoint you, for example the “mosasaurus roll” or whatever is amazing, you are upside down over the water, and yet it all happens so fast it’s just a blur RRR may look intimidating but the way it raises you up in the air at a 90 degree angle means you have to turn around and try to look down to really feel all the jitters associated w being raised upĪnyways, all this is to say, the velocicoaster, RRR, and the Hulk don’t give you enough time to be scared and essentially focus 100% on the moments from a roller coaster where you’re gonna have a blast. The velocicoaster is a launch coaster, so is the hulk… this essentially means the anticipation and fear of heights is mostly alleviated by putting you into a tunnel in the case of the hulk or in the case of velocicoaster, launching you from the load station (basically). The inversions were so smooth and thrilling and the roll over the water was just too cool. Also, the lapbar felt way more secure on VC. UPDATE: I DID IT!!! it was not even close to how scary Mako was for me, guess I am just scared of buildups to such heights. Can someone like me please tell me it's more thrilling than scary? I've never done inversions either. I am considering VC though because of the great reviews. basically tried every other ride except Hulk, RRR, and Velocicoaster. I enjoyed the revenge of the mummy, Hagrid's, river adventure.

I've been at Universal for a couple of days now. I left that ride in tears and have been traumatized since. I had absolutely no idea how high the ride went, and the lapbar restraint was the only thing strapping us in. My very first coaster was Seaworld's Mako. The second launch takes place about mid-ride and takes you up to the ride's maximum speed of 70 mph in 2.4 seconds, sending you up the coaster's signature 155-foot-tall top hat and giving you an insane view of the entire resort (that is, if you aren't freaking out enough to admire the view).Okay, context.

The first takes place at the beginning of the ride and brings you from 0 to 50 mph in just two seconds, flying through rock formations featuring waterfalls and Velociraptors that roar as you fly by. The ride has not one, but two high-speed launches. The queue itself has a lot of fun Easter eggs, including books by Alan Grant and mathematician Ian Malcolm. Even if his reason for being there is purely to get important safety information across in a non-boring way, it was still fun to see John Hammond's old creation getting a new life in Jurassic World.
